The wait is over.
After closing its doors in Piermont last January, Olar has reopened across the border, in Northvale, New Jersey.
The first day of business was Dec. 14.
For now, the restaurant, called Olar Noso, serves dinner only with limited reservations as owner Miguel Dominguez wants to ensure everything, from the restaurant's popular artisan Neapolitan-style pizzas to its service, is running smoothly.
One reason is that Dominguez has a lot more space to work with. In Piermont, he had an intimate 30-seat eatery with a brick dome oven taking up a bulk of the space; Olar Noso is an 80-plus seat dining room with the pizza oven front and center. There's also a separate cocktail lounge and a private dining room which will eventually be made into a wine cellar, bringing the total seat count at 230.

Olar, which had been in piermont for 10 years, is now a much larger space under the name Olar Noso. The restaurant, which specializes in Spanish and Mediterranean inspired dishes is located in Northvale, New Jersey. Beryl Meyer
What remains the same: A seasonally-driven menu specializing in Spanish and Mediterranean inspired dishes including grilled Iberian octopus, as Spanish fries, handcrafted pastas and those popular pizzas.
Another plus for diners, who used to drive up and down Piermont streets looking for parking: Olar Noso has its own parking lot.
